    Review Errors

    I was trying to write reviews for the a couple of items and I keep getting this error:

     "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

    Timeout expired

    /productdetails.asp, line 814"

    I've tried on different computers and on different days, and these are the only two items I've gotten this error from.

    Any ideas?

    Try typing it in work or something similar to that, and the copy and paste it. If that doesnt work then Amanda will have to fix it, which may take a while since they are very busy trying to make things run smoother for BAF.

    How long does it take you to write your review? Because of the security code you have to enter when you submit it, the page will time out if it takes you too long. Try writing your review on a word processor, then copying and pasting and see if that works.

    Yeah, I always just type it up in Word first and then copy/paste so I can spellcheck. I was able to review everything else I ordered, so I figured it was some random error. I'm in no hurry though, I'm just enjoying all my new pretties!

    What internet browser are you using? Because I got a similar error when using Opera but it worked on Internet Explorer. Not sure if thats the same case though...

    I use IE at work and firefox at home...at first I thought it was just my work computer being cranky but it didn't work at home either.

    I'm getting the same error when I try to review the blemished gorilla glass. I've been getting the error for about a week now - tried different browsers on my comp too and it still didn't work. When I made an order not too long ago too it gave me some kind of funky error. So you're not alone.

    Sorry to mooch off your post, but I have a question about reviews. 

     After you submit a review, is it supposed to take you to the front page?  I remember getting some sort of confirmation before and now I get nothing.  And the review I posted maybe a month ago isn't up.

    That was happening when that code was embedded into the website a while ago. It means they didn't get your review. :(

    Post which items (links) are taking you to the home page here... none should be doing that but it may happen.

    in order for it to have been rejected, it would have had to go through successfully.  instead, we've been automatically directed to the home page.  it's good that yours haven't been doing that, but it's been happening to us.
