Could we add some rules to the site rules post?  There's no info on what constitutes a dead post (one week?  two weeks?  on the fourth page?).  I've seen people called on this, but I'm not sure what the actual rule is.

And isn't there a rule on not posting links to other jewelry sites?

You can link to other jewelry sites as long as it is something that BAF doesn't carry.  Personally I try to limit it to the jewelry you want us to carry thread. 

I say two weeks... And dont use the excuse of the OP not providing info about the issue being solved as a reason to create a Zombie thread...

 if you are curious about what has happened to someone and a decent amount of time has passed, there are PMs.  PM them and ask them to update.

Andrew I totally understand what you are saying.  If you have a problem that is similar feel free to start a new thread.  Personally I am more concerned with posts that are over 4 years old that are revived (yes that has happened recently).

TTOAT is specifically designed to stay alive. It is the "post whatever you're thinking" thread, if you will. There are often up to a dozen or more posts in it per day, every day. It is never left for weeks or months (or years) on end to "die," so there is never an issue of "ressurecting" it.  

So no, not "like TTOAT." There is a difference. :)

you will notice that it is meant to be random (in fact it was created when the *stay on topic* rule really started being enforced) and like merc mentioned it is always active.  I have never had to go anywhere but the first page of threads to find it.  Hardly a dead thread.

There are a few threads that are never considered inactive.  The thread of all threads, Post your pics, Suggestions, What jewelry would you like us to carry, post your videos, Naked lobes, the post your collection, introduce yourself, and the my order thread are the only ones that come to mind currently.  They are generally identifiable by the HUGE amounts of posts (the thread of all threads had all posts cept the first one removed at the beginning of last year and iirc we are over 10,000 again).   Also, one thing you will notice is that those threads generally aren't asking for help or opinions. 

Quinn I think you could add the Anatometal threads (blings, and ask barry) to that list probably.
