I've currently got 36mm lobes and am keen to get to 40 but 1. i dont have anything to put in them when i get to 38mm and up and 2. I dont want/know how to stretch without buying 'proper' things to stretch with.

I dont want a saftey on why i shouldnt use home made stuff but please, any help would do.

you don't.

you can buy PFTE plumbers tape and stretch very slowly but you will still need to buy plugs. 

& you should be waiting more than a few months between those stretchings.

either way you should wear earrings for those months anyway O.o durka.

Well, what are you wearing in your ears now that are 36mm? You don't need to necessarily buy new plugs, though I'd recommend it, because 4mm is not small business. Either way, PTFE tape on your plugs means not buying new plugs to stretch, but using the tape to stretch. You can get a roll for about a buck in hardware stores. 

thanks for that, yes i think the tape is a good idea, ive already tried it and it worked well, What would be something 'homemade' that i could put in a 38mm lobe?

I currently have a 'cut off' powerade caps that were made into homemade tunnels,  theyre plastic and ive burnt the area around the edge of were i cut them as to make them smooth on the inner lobe.

the expense of buying to a large size all they way through from the pissy little 2mm stretchers is extravergant. Honestly the pain of stretchingis not worth the money of 'real' plugs.

OP: If you're not willing to invest in a pair of plugs in each size and take care of your ears, you shouldn't be stretching. Stretching (correctly) is not cheap, but it pays for itself by resulting in healthy lobes.
