    surface tragus

if i got a surface bar right next to my tragus, would that count as an ear piercing or a facial piercing. also, is there a specific name for it or is it just called a vertical surface tragus

It's could probably fall into either category. Is there a reason you need to classify it?

    Re: surface tragus

theyre [also] called "sideburn" piercings i believe.

    those look like this:

i always thought a vertical tragus was this:

but now that im looking more through the bme galleries more people are calling it a vertical tragus. am i wrong? i dont get why itd be called that if its not going through your tragus. Confused

    Re: surface tragus

I've never heard it referred to as a sideburn, and I don't think I like it. I've heard it called a forward tragus though.

    Re: surface tragus

I call it a vertical surface tragus, and if I were an employer I'd probably classify it as an ear piercing since it's much closer to the ear and could be hidden by hair if it's long enough.

    Re: surface tragus

My jobs dress code prohibits facial piercings. My manager has made it clear to me that she is graciously classifying it as an ear piercing because I know what I'm doing at work.
