    Clavicular luuurve (microdermals)

So I was wearing my grad corset the other day and I had this stroke of inspiration that a pair of clavicle microdermals would look perfect with the sweetheart neckline...and then I couldn't get the idea out of my head. I knew I had to have them, so I went to see my piercer yesterday and had a couple installed =D I had them done with plain steel half domes for healing, and I'm going to get some teal Anatometal half domes to wear to grad to match the colours of my corset and hair. Crikey the things are expensive, but I love them so much and I know they'll last me a long time as long as I take good care of them.

    Newer, slightly better pic:

Please excuse the bad pic, I'll get some better ones tomorrow and update the thread. Later on I plan to get another set above my clavicles but a bit wider apart, so it'll look like I've got angled subclavical piercings! The procedure itself was mildy painful but more than anything felt weird as hell. My piercer uses the punch-and-elevate method (as opposed to the needle only method) and the punch itself felt like she was punching much deeper than she actually did, I swear I could feel it hit my clavicle (even though she obviously couldn't) and the elevation of the skin pinched and generally felt alarming. Didn't bleed as much as my other piercings have, though they've been more tender since. I can't wait to show them off, I feel that I'm overdue for some curious comments as my septum never got me any Wink

    The dermals look great!

Not to rain your parade, but you should really wait many months before changing the ends. Any little bit of trauma at this stage could increase the likelihood of rejection/migration issues.

    Re: Clavicular luuurve (microdermals)

    Thanks everyone =D

As for manufacturer, I'm pretty sure the bases are IS but the ends could be Anatometal. They weren't packaged as sets (like for autoclaving) and were all pre sterilized so I don't know if they're the same. Anyway, now that I've had them for a few days I don't think I'll be changing the ends as soon as I'd hoped, they just seem too fragile. Every five minutes I pat myself down to make sure they haven't been ripped out or something >_<

As for aftercare, these things are like stupid easy to take care of so far. Basically I'm going for LITHA, just rinsing them with warm plain water for a few minutes every am/pm and I've done one chamomile soak so far. They're still just a teeensy bit red, but they look pretty happy overall.

I've had to explain the concept of microdermal anchoring to more than a few people, though, which is mightily entertaining Wink
