    Double flares attemps

Ok so I have read alot of forums about the proper way to put in df and the safe time frames on stretching from one size to another. Here's the deal. It took me 3 years to go from an 18g to a 2g. I went very slow! I have been a 2g for about a year. I currently have the screw on back bobber and its a 2g. Now, why can't I put in the 2g df if I have been at this size forever. I am constantly tugging at my lobes (out of habit). So I would of thought it wouldn't of been a big deal to put them in. What am I doing wrong? Please help me.

maybe the flares are just to big?

also try putting them in at an angle kinda like you are buttoning your pants

Have you measured the flares? Flares on smaller-gauge plugs are often huge (they can be 2 or sometimes even 3 sizes bigger!). Try buying plugs which you know have small flares. Tawapa plugs are notorious for that aspect, and these have TINY flares (8.7mm on 8mm/0g plugs).

Try to work your way up to bigger flares. If anything, you can try stretching to 1g for a while, then downsizing and trying 2g DF plugs again.

Otherwise, are you sure you're trying to put them in correctly? You probably are Smile but just in case, here's a video I made demonstrating how to insert and remove double-flared jewelry:

    Good luck!

No I had no idea that they could be that much bigger.  I am getting a tattoo saturday so I will have him measure them. And on your video,, Thats how I was trying to put them in.

i usually lube up the df plug before i put it in and it makes putting them in a hell of alot easier. if by chance you have a hot topic by your house they have a really good pair of clear plugs that have small flares and are really comfortable. i wear them almost everyday

I've found that double flares can vary a lot in both the flare size and even the gauge accuracy, depending on the material... organics tend to vary a lot more than say glass.

I was having a lot of trouble with df plugs for a month or so ago, but I've been at 2g for over a year, and my problem was that I had been sleeping with nekkid lobes, and then I'd put in a sf plug earlier in the day, then think I could switch to a df easily in the evening. That resulted in my right lobe getting pissy for a bit.

Lay off for a while if your lobes are getting irritated with the df attempts, and then I'd say wear your largest (you can tell visually as well as if they fit tighter) sf plugs for a bit, or you can try wearing heavier hanging stuff, if you have it. Or as someone else suggested, try stretching to a 1g for a while, then downsize and you shouldn't have any trouble. And sometimes you have to push a bit to get a df plug in... just so long as your lobe doesn't get traumatized to the point of being irritated, you're good.

    [Insert witty statement here.]

that wont do much help, hottopic plugs are sold by the flare size, so if you get 2g double flared plugs, youre actually getting a plug thats flares are a 2g

That's not always true. The double flared steel eyelets they sell are sized by the wearable area.
