Im getting my Septum pierced next week! Ive finally got enough money and some time off to get it done
Im so excited! I know its not going to suit my face but I couldnt care less!
Im planning on having it done at 14g and with a black retainer so I can hide it from family and school

Does anyone have any Septum tips theyd like to share with meee =]


EDIT: I got my septum pierced yesterday, wasnt too painful just a slight pinch, though my eyes streemed like mad, no pictures yet because it started to swell and I fliped it up before it was too swollon to do so, then it swelled too much to flip it down without hurt me alot, so its been up the whole night and most this morning, I plan to leave it up for atleast a week and LITHA aswell as SSS

EDIT 2: I had my septuum pierced on Saturday, only have a few pictures for yall cause I havnt fliped it down much and only one caught offgard face shot

 When you wake up the next morning, try to remember that you got your septum pierced, and that it's not a big booger in your nose that needs to be picked. Also, in the first few weeks, make sure that if you flip it at all, to wash your hands first and make sure that there aren't any crusties in the way that could tear or irritate the fistula. Post pictures when you get it (:

Try not to hit your nose when you're taking your shirt off!!!

 Be very, very, very careful if you have to blow your nose.  Q-tips are your best friend.

 Haha, blowing my nose is one of my biggest worries!

blowing your nose with a retainer is a LOT easier than with a ring....

i found that i perfered to do sea salt soaks with rolled up cotton pads, and use damp q-tips to remove the crusties 

and deff avoid anything touching or pressing the tip of your nose

and watch out for one of the legs of the retainer rubbing a side of your septum raw 

 Honestly, I'd go for a circular barbell rather than a retainer, but that's just my personal preference. (And the preference of my piercer, so maybe I'm biased.) You know you're not going to lose it, and you can still flip it up.

Im abit paranoid about loosing the retainer while I sleep and stuff now you mention it, would it be possible to wear o rings on it

Can you explain this abit more to be pleaseee, I was planning to blow nose bubbles into a bowl of sea salt solution but I like the sound of your idea, theres no harm in trying eh 

i would make up my sea salt water... nice and warm like

then take 2 square cotton pads (you can use the rounds too, they are the kind from the cosmetic section) and dip them into your warm SSS

I then rolled them up seprately and stuffed one up each nostril

if i felt like the cotton pad wasn't touching the piercing I would apply light pressure so to get good coverage without pushing out all the SSS

I then "soaked" my septum this way for 10 mins 3 times a day

If I ever felt like the cotton was getting cold, or too much dripped out, I'd take out the the rolled up pad, and re-dip in the SSS, and re-insert 

I never used cotton balls because I didn't like how loose the cotton was woved, with the pads the cotton is tight, and the warmth helps soothes a septum to happiness 

EDIT:

as far as CBBs vs. retainers, (which i perfer the later)  often piercers have to bend the CBB out of wack to be able to flip it up, some people have a problem with this mainly when they wanna wear it down... just a heads up

 dont worry about it, that will never happen! No need to wear o rings, that will only be a pain in the ass.

be prepared  for your eyes to water excessively when you get it pierced.

and your retainer shouldnt fall out when you are sleeping, mine never did.

while I've never had my retainer come out when I'm sleeping, I have like rubbed my nose (like the side) & my retainer worked itself out...especially if I did it on the side with my nostril pierced.

deffinately make it a point to remmeber you got it pierce, i cant count how many times the first week i got mine i went to wipe my nose and felt the worst pain ever

and dont forget SALT SOAKS! =)

I worried about that before I got mine pierced, but mine never actually comes out by itself when sleeping/blowing my nose. The only time I had it fall out was when I was washing my nose with soap(it was long healed by then).
