    dark spot and bleeding

so i've had my ears at a 8g and a 10g for about three months now. no bleeding or trama everything was fine. i recently got my ear ripped/pulled violently and is most obviously torn now, it wont stop bleeding. i downsized to a 12g and a 14g on that one ear. sea salted and everything. now what has got me concerned and questioning is this:

the dark spot above the piercing....and yes that is crusted blood. it still hasnt stopped bleeding fully yet.

any thoughts? has anyone seen anything like this before? it looks like internal bleeding...but i honestly have no idea what it is. it doesnt hurt like its bruised even though thats what it looks like. this has developed in the last day so its not like its been there for a while or had been there before the "accident." i'm pretty much using the litha method at the momento as well as sss. sucks much :(

Well, if you're doing sea salt soaks you're not doing LITHA, as LITHA means you're leaving it alone entirely. You're exercising LIMA -- leaving it mostly alone. (Sorry, irrelevent, I know!)

But no-- I haven't seen anything like that. What jewelry are you wearing? I would imagine the best type of jewelry for this situation would be straight-shaft (i.e., labret barbell), as it would reduce any movement that might irritate it further. The only thing I can think of, that you mentioned already too, is that it indeed looks like bruising of some sort.

    Re: dark spot and bleeding

i had a plug in there when it was pulled on but it was a longer glass one and it seemed to get more bumped and jostled when i slept. i woke up in the morning and they felt very sore. i had these in last night and in the morning they felt a little better. but if the plugs are a better option i could always go back...but i dont really want to change them again :( it does not feel nice.

heh and sorry about the litha thing. i thought it meant not really touching them or rubbing them with lotions and didnt include sss (which is kinda silly logic on my part now that i think about it.)Embarrassed it seemed like that it was necessary to help it a little and it does.

erm and my jewelry currently are steel segmented rings.

Yeah, I understand about not wanting to mess with/change them again. It is best to treat them like new piercings. If you don't notice any improvements (with SSS and leaving it mostly alone, I'm sure you will), you might want to consider a fitted plug or labret stud that would move around less.

any chance that it could be a bruise?

Mods: 3/4 lobes, monroe, rook, tragus, left nostril, septum.

I know what it feels like, giving into something you dont understand.

heh its never just as simple as that...Stick out tongue

it might very well just be some brusing. still bleeding a little bit but not nearly as bad as yesterday.

*sigh* i'm just going to have to leave it alone and wait all over again.

    Re: dark spot and bleeding

With the trauma you describe, and looking at the pic, it seems likely it's just a bruise.

    Re: dark spot and bleeding

I agree. A bruise is basically just minor internal bleeding, anyway. Could just be an easy out - to come through your lobes.
