 The neometal insertion tapers I see on the site say that they don't work for the threadless type.

i think only the the 14g don't work for the thredless type.

"14g pin tapers will fit internally threaded jewelry ONLY. They do no fit in the threadless versions."

Yus.  Figured that out today LOL.  I got my 18g end and post from Neometal, but now I have to wait on the taper because I didn't know how much easier it would make life.  I have been struggling with this thing for TWO days!  Invented all types of contraptions to get it in though.

 eta 8/01: I got my insertion taper and the piece went in like it belonged there!  I'm so happy!  I forget who said it, but someone said to put the end into your nose from the outside instead of the other way around.  It works, it's faster and I could just scream cuz i'm so happy.  *ahem*starts-acting-like-an-adult*

i think that was me. in a review. i figured it would be helpful to some one else too. dummy i am tried to find the hole from the inside of my nose for like 10 minutes before i realized "oh, i'm not stretching or anything i can go from the outside in! i'm a genius."

That doesn't work so well if you want the gem on the outside though. ;)

yuh it does. you stick the fat pin part of the taper through the outside till it comes out your nostril. stick the labret post on the pin, pull the taper out the same way it went in, pop the gem on the end of labret post. gem is sucessfull on the outside all with out haveing to poke the pointy end of the taper around in your nose looking for the hole. told you i'm a genius.
