At What Gauge Size Could You Start The Taping Method?
I've Looked On Search Engines & Found Different Things, So I Was Just Wondering. :)

Any size? I guess it kinda depends on how much patience you have haha

You said you tore your lobe before your other thread got locked. You should be downsizing right now. In the future taping becomes handier than a taper around 8g and 6g.

I started taping at 6g. Some people find it difficult to tape at a smaller gauge and wait until 2g or 0g.

I taped from an 8g to a 6g. Takes some patience to do the wraps.

I couldn't make taping work for me until I was at 4g. It takes a lot of patience and trial and error at first.

At the most you could taper to 0g then it becomes kinda unsafe to use tapers so taping from then on. At the least, I've seen my friend wrap a 10g plug dunno if I would attempt anything lower.

From what I heard taping at smaller sizes is definitely possible but because the wearable is small in diameter it will take more practice to get the hang of it and smooth out the ptfe tape properly. Other than that taping usually starts at 4g or 2g. Depending on how stretchy your lobes are, taping at a smaller gauge might benefit you. But yeah from what I read of your previous thread, you shouldn't consider taping till your lobes have been downsized and healed properly first (:

I started taping at 8g, but I have small fingers and lots of patience.

You can use tape on pretty much any piercing you're trying to stretch...as long as you can get the tape around the jewelry, anyway. I'd imagine at 12g it's pretty fiddly, but it can be done.

I've never used taping because it blows.

I just used tape to stretch to 0g from 2g, and it was very effective. I've never needed it before as the stretches have only been 1mm, but for the 2mm stretch I just added a few layers every day for a week and my 0g taper just slid right in. Just remember to oil the plugs good because the tape made my ears really dry.

You skipped 1g completely. Even with taping, skipping sizes is not recommended.

Even with taping, skipping sizes is not recommended.Maybe not, but I struggled to find steel 1g plugs locally or on eBay (I'm in the UK) despite there being plenty of 1g acrylic tapers in my local shop. I listened to my body, if it became hard to put the plugs in I would have stopped for a while but it was real easy :)

Just bc it "worked" for you doesn't mean you should advise others to do the same. Not only did you skip a size but 2mm in a week means you taped to fast as well. We try to only give out safe stretching info on this forum.

Just because I had no issues doesn't mean I'm recommending going fast.

I used the taping method when I went from 4mm to 5mm. Found it much easier than using a taper and a lot less fiddly with follow through.
